When servicing my SunTour XCR suspension fork, I happen to put about a handful of grease. On a factory-lubed fork I found out that they pout less that 1/10th of that ammaunt.

The grease goes tot the single spring, and the stanchions.

Could my practice be harful? I believe that the excess grease ont only lubes a little better, but also acts as a seal against rain water. How much is enough?
