Which part of your bike costed you most? No need to tell the price. What is its relation to the total cost?

Further to Brian's answer, I bought a whole bike (including frame, brakes, gears, wheels, tires, saddle, all assembled), and that was half the cost; the other half of the cost were accessories: i.e. fenders/mud-guards, a lock, lights, helmet, rack, pannier, SPD shoes and pedals, a pump, and chain lube. – ChrisW Mar 5 '11 at 1:01

Single most expensive part was the frame (and I was even able to get a lightly used one for a good deal). However, even being the single most expensive part, it was only about 1/6th the total cost...
