comment Why don't road bikes have disc brakes?
Actually, I was in the LBS the other day and they had a Cannondale Synapse road bike with disk brakes.

comment What pressure should I run my Road Bike tyres at?
It is important to keep the pressure right, if it gets low you will get pinch flats from hitting a hard bump or hole in the road. As long as I keep my tires well inflated I rarely get flats and those that I do are the real type from something actually puncturing the tire and tube.

comment What cadence should I aim for?
A big reason to have your cadence around 100 is that you are pressing down less for the same speed which in the long run will save your knees. Slow grinding pedaling will also grind out your knees. It is a bit tricky at first but when you get the hang of it over the course of a summer it will just feel natural.
