I'm a software developer based in Nottingham, England. I mostly know about C#, asp.net and asp.net MVC, SQL Server, report writing in Crystal and SSRS and even a bit of VB6.
Most of my recent work has involved developing systems for some of the busiest airports in the world.

What type of shoes should a commuter/road biker use? What sort of pedals do you have? If you are just using the shop pedals that came with the bike they could be the real problem. |

Does pedaling while standing damage my knees even if I don't feel pain? @Kibbee It's an interesting discussion - from a mountain biking perspective people don't stand up enough! When you say people on the road stand more than they should is that just about efficiency or is there another reason? When I ride to work on my road bike I sit down all the way if I feel tired but if I'm fresh I stand up and attack he hills just for fun. |

Does pedaling while standing damage my knees even if I don't feel pain? One more thing :) i'm not just thinking of road cycling. Check out the standing pedalling in a top level XC race, in the Olympic race Marco Fontana got bronze even after his seatpost fell off. |

Does pedaling while standing damage my knees even if I don't feel pain? Also, it's not the most efficient rider who wins, it's the one with the best power to weight ratio. That said, standing up is only ever going to be faster over shorter distances because of the decreased efficiency. |

Does pedaling while standing damage my knees even if I don't feel pain? @kibbee well there's actually a lot of standing in that video, an average person wouldn't be standing up at all. As you say you see most standing at the end of a stage and that is often where the race is won. |
