comment When to lube a chain?
I usually re-lube it when I know I'm going to have an incredibly rainy day, this will protect the chain.

comment How much “play” is normal in a Sturmey Archer 3 speed hub?
@DavidBriggs I haven't disassembled it yet. I am going to do it at the end of this month.

comment Bottom bracket removal, what is this part?
UPDATE: I applied HD40 and unscrewed the non-drive side without problems with an adjustable crescent wrench (normal unscrew direction, right to left); the drive side is more stubborn, I'll let it soak in HD40 and try again tomorrow, the ridges are lower in this side.

comment Bottom bracket removal, what is this part?
@DanielRHicks thanks Daniel! that is indeed important to know. I was going for the "lets try the standard (non-drive = unscrew right to left as normal) and drive not standard (unscrew to the right)".

I already saw that one, if my drive side doesn't come out I'll go for something like that! thanks again for the extra tip :)

comment Bottom bracket removal, what is this part?
Thanks for the tip, I already knnew about the ball bearings, I didn't know of a proper tool for the disassembly, since the outer part is so low compared to any other "normal" nut shapped BB. I'll give it a try with an adjustable crescent wrench first.
