Wished there were another 10 hours in the day to be able to code so my family could see me a little more. If only I didn't have to sleep!

unblock slime presta valve went to the bike shop.. They didn't notice the removable core either and said they could have a look at some point today. Had a family bike ride planned so thought I would have another go. A pair of pliers and 5 minutes later I had the core out and push the slime blockage out. problem solved. Thanks :-) |

unblock slime presta valve either way.. assuming you can do this for presta or schraeder I am not fussed, the advice seems good to me. I need to go to the LBS tomorrow AM as do not have that tool. |

4 year old alivio 8 speed rear gears - compatible chain The bike had not see lots of action compared to more serious riders so wear and tear might not be as worn as others could be... but I don't know lots about this stuff yet, so it's all guess work for me |

Disk brakes severely reduced in power after replacing bearings will give the cleaning a good go, brakes are hydraulic (forgot to mention that, have updated post). Thanks |

mountain bike freewheel hub stopped rotating found the two notches but couldn't budge them... a friend of mine took me to a car mechanic who built a metal tool (bar) the right size to get a good grip on it and open it up. Regreased it and all seems well. (just got to put it back together now!).. Thanks again.. if your ever in Sussex I owe you a drink or 2. |

upgrading gears to Shimano XT Should I replace the chain whilst only doing the middle chainring or is this over kill? Not sure how old the chain is, half sure it is not the original, but as you might be able to tell I am not 100% confident on that one. |

mountain bike chainsuck, replacing parts while thinking of future upgrades looking at wiggle's XT front derailers there are multi ones to choose from. Is it posisble to incrementally go to a 10 speed, ie change front to 10 speed style and then do rear later? |

When replacing wheel bearings, is there a standard or are they different for each type of bike brilliant and informative answer. Thanks for all the help. Thinking of getting "Pedros Cone Spanners" from Wiggle. Will get some bearings from LBS. After yesterdays play and your advice I feel better at giving this a good go. Thanks |
