Also a trailer could work with the pull along bike! I would add some flags for extra visibility and stay away from fast roads.

Trailers seem much safer to me. Having two kids on a bike seems very unstable. My loaded saddle bags make my bike very unstable and their center of gravity is significantly lower.

I lived in Ottawa, Canada last winter. The average temperature is -10C but it is much colder at night. I also found that goggles kept slush out of my eyes much better than anything else. I found with glasses that the slush would hit my forehead and then fall down between my glasses and eyes. Conclusion: even if you lose some peripheral vision goggles are still the better choice.

Sorry, I meant pavement interms of the surface (in North America it would be correct to say: "our roads are made of pavement"). What would you you call the material that the road is made out of? Do you pave your driveway?
