Jerome Lavigne is a commuter, tourer and randonneur.
Currently riding a steel Marinoni Sportivo with Shimano Ultegra up front and XT in the back, no-nonsense 32-spoke DT swiss wheels with 28mm Armadillo tires, plus dynamo hub lighting and a Brooks B-17 saddle for that randonneur look.
Formerly a resident of Vancouver, BC, he has traded the long, wet west coast cycling season for the much shorter but drier season in eastern Canada.

Long-lasting price-worthy fenders? +1 for Planet Bike, I've used their fenders on both of my randonneuring bikes, no problems at all. |

What pressure should I run my Road Bike tyres at? +1 -- I'll add that the maximum not only varies with tire quality, but also width. 28mm tires are not likely to go up to 130psi. |

How do I stop my brake from sticking? "half springs back" -- half as far as it used to, or only one side springs back? |

What are the advantage of the different gear shifters @mgb: it's the same with bar-end and down-tube shifters. Muscle memory helps me pick the right direction, but if I stop to think about it, I usually shift the wrong way... |

When is Cyclometer useful? @HH01: A simple trip odometer would do that. Most cycle computers have a long-term odometer (only resets when you reset the device) and one or more shorter trip odometers that you can start/stop individually. |

What are the advantages of the different clipless systems? My experience is the same. What I like about the Crank Brothers system is that my foot's never inadvertently unclipped; I had that problem often with SPDs because I kept the tension too low for easy unclipping. |

What are the advantage of the different gear shifters Are you looking for comparison between types (eg. integrated brake/shift levers, bar-end, downtube) or between brands? Assuming this is for road bikes... |

How is “correct” tire pressure related to tire volume? @shapr: You can get a rough estimate in square inches by dividing the total weight (rider + bike + stuff carried, all in lbs) by the tire pressure (in psi). Divide by the number of wheels to get the contact patch for each wheel. |
