comment Calorie burn information is dramatically different between Strava IOS App and Cyclemeter IOS app. Which is more accurate?
@Drai I think mattnz's point is that neither of them are smarter. So pick the one that makes you feel better. If you want to over-estimate pick the bigger number, if you want to under-estimate, pick the smaller. If you're consistent and find that the data helps you to manage your diet and weight then you're winning

comment Is it possible to tune a hub gear?
I'm assuming ramps = hills and 'go larger' means make the gearing easier for going up hills.

comment My back brakes don't lock the wheel (skid): feature or a bug?
Are you using the front brakes at the same time? If you're applying both brakes then the back probably wouldn't lock up. If it still doesn't lock up the wheel with just the back brake then you've probably got a problem.

@David I'd trust the shop on that advice. I've had friends who haven't taken this advice and then ended up spending $500+ on cassette and chainrings.

I don't agree with your last statement. It would be easy to wear your chain sufficiently to destroy the cassette and chainrings in much less than 2-3 years.

@Batman I would have done this but I was changing the cassette to a different size, so the chain length would need to be different as well.

comment My left STI shifter has 5 positions for a double crankset?
@Blam trim position is a smaller adjustment while still remaining on the same chainring to allow for cross chaining.
