I ride for fitness, enjoyment and an easier, less stressful commute.

On weekends I ride a custom (by Kennedy's Cycle Fit) road bike with Campag gear.

To commute I ride an SE Lager fixed (love the fixie!)

With the family I ride a Shogun hybrid.

I love to tinker with my bikes and won't go to a mechanic unless it's for something advanced or unfamiliar.

@Batman I would have done this but I was changing the cassette to a different size, so the chain length would need to be different as well.

@Blam trim position is a smaller adjustment while still remaining on the same chainring to allow for cross chaining.

What's with the fixie hate? Just because you don't enjoy it doesn't mean nobody else does or that you have to be rude and dismissive.

Excellent answer for removing cranks, although you didn't mention removing the crank bolt with a hex wrench. He specified in a comment that he only wants to remove the chain rings.

I'm certainly not criticizing it's just interesting that there clearly isn't a lot of information about cleat placement so the same 2 or 3 articles keep cropping up.

I also found it interesting. Lots of people got very assertive based on no fact, and just a bunch of opinions. I would suggest a stiff sole would prevent the under-foot pressure problems. The info here seems to reinforce your advice given that this question is all about triathalon. Would you consider editing your answer with some of this info to make it more comprehensive?

Be aware that TT helmets are often unventilated and you'll get very hot and sweaty under there.
