I ride for fitness, enjoyment and an easier, less stressful commute.

On weekends I ride a custom (by Kennedy's Cycle Fit) road bike with Campag gear.

To commute I ride an SE Lager fixed (love the fixie!)

With the family I ride a Shogun hybrid.

I love to tinker with my bikes and won't go to a mechanic unless it's for something advanced or unfamiliar.

I'm certainly not criticizing it's just interesting that there clearly isn't a lot of information about cleat placement so the same 2 or 3 articles keep cropping up.

This is funny... your link is also in this question: bicycles.stackexchange.com/q/7433/1588

I also found it interesting. Lots of people got very assertive based on no fact, and just a bunch of opinions. I would suggest a stiff sole would prevent the under-foot pressure problems. The info here seems to reinforce your advice given that this question is all about triathalon. Would you consider editing your answer with some of this info to make it more comprehensive?

Be aware that TT helmets are often unventilated and you'll get very hot and sweaty under there.

comment How do I remove my Campagnolo Veloce rear brake caliper?
I've got wishbone style chainstays. So there's a hole for the brake caliper to go through, but not a 'traditional' bridge.

comment How do I remove my Campagnolo Veloce rear brake caliper?
I don't think so... I'm referring to front and back of the caliper, rather than the bike. Sorry, I see that's confusing. I'm reaching in through the frame (I don't have a bridge) and undoing that nut that's sticking out on the top of the diagram you included.

comment Are the Shimano BR650 brakes really Ultegra spec?
Actually, I rode on them today and they had plenty of stopping power, even in the wet. So maybe I was a little harsh earlier. I've also tried a set of Miche brake calipers and they had reach in between the standard and long reach Shimano brakes. They were pretty good.

I installed one of these yesterday! I'm not impressed... they're very spongy :( Definitely not as good as the 105s they replace, but at least I can align the pads properly.
