I'm a software engineer based in Glasgow, Scotland. Mostly writing software in C# and a little Java.

I'm interested in a variety of topics from best practice and coding standards and UI to nitty gritty programming details.

comment Commercially available sprung tyres/wheels?
That is exactly what I was looking for, sadly looking at it I now remember why I didn't back it. The price and the fact that it's only for foldable bikes, although mostly the price.

comment Why is cycling on a road so much faster than cycling on a cycle path?
Both are tarmac, if anything the cycle path is in better nick for a lot of the way. I think the road it just more direct thus I'm slowing down a lot more to get on and off the cycle path.

This makes sense but the cycle path I ride on is all tarmac...

The cycle path in Glasgow is fairly well maintained though and the street that I spend most of my time on it pothole city.

I think I can safely rule out conditions. It took me 34 minutes in the pouring rain yesterday and 34 minutes in the sunshine today. Gotta love Scotland's variable weather.

15 inch laptop. By converts into a bag I mean either a backpack of a messenger bag style (I only don't want to wear it as a messenger bag while cycling)
