comment Inner chainring bent on 6 week old MTB
The Voodoo bikes are proper mountain bikes rather than BSOs! Halfords sell them rather than make them.

comment When down-shifting my rear derailleur (Campagnolo 10spd) is skipping multiple gears.
Taking a shifter apart is almost always a bad idea, I still have a box in the garage with a disassembled Shimano 105 shifter that just won't go back together! The problem however could just be a sticky cable - friction in the housing leads to you having to over tension the cable to change up and the spring pulls it down multiple shifts when you release. Changing the outer and cable is a cheap place to start and in my experience it solves 99% of gear related issues!

comment Any Issues installing STI Brake/Shifter levers to bike with direct-pull V-Cantilever brakes?
Isn't terminology wonderful; where I am (in the UK) a V brake is a direct pull cantilever as shown here: sheldonbrown.com/canti-direct.html and a cantilever with a straddle wire is just a cantilever brake as shown here: sheldonbrown.com/canti-trad.html.

comment How can I tell if my wheels need replacing due to rim wear?
On some rims such Mavic Open Pro the rim is drilled part way through from the inside - so for these rims you need to look for the hole appearing rather than something wearing away.

comment Is it worth getting a suspension seat post as a cheap alternative to full suspension bike?
Before I spent money on a seat post I'd make sure I had a very comfortable pair of padded shorts and a big jar of chamois cream. Personally I use endura MT500 shorts for the first and assos chamois creme for the second.
