tech.trailmax.info - My blog. I write about C# and ASP.Net MVC (and sometimes about other random stuff)

hrnet.trailmax.info My other blog. There I write about a technology I have been exposed for longer than I wanted. And now I know too much about HR.Net. This is part of my consulting service.

My projects:

  • Amv.Reporting - little reporting web-application: write SQL queries, convert result of the queries into Json and add a bit of Javascript into the mix to convert the JSON into user-readable data. Based on RavenDB with CQRS and Event Sourcing. Currently in full rewrite.

  • cacheCopy - utility to copy images from your browser's cache. Last release 2012 - no longer developed.

comment Do skilled cyclists really “use the front brake alone probably 95% of the time”?
@DanielRHicks don't think tractors are applicable here being mechanised and much bigger. Not sure what video you refer to. And it is a matter of practice when to release the break. We talking about "skilled cyclists", aren't we?

comment What is the best way to stop and restart at a stoplight?
Floor is lava! @ChrisMueller I'm surprised nobody actually posted trackstand as an answer! Having a background in trials and downhill, I never set a foot on the floor when commuting.

@DanielRHicks It is only theories I've came up with. I really don't know why the industry gone with the current set up.

comment Building a beginner trial bike
Well... looks tough really just looks. On practice you'll find out soon enough how much abuse it can take. I found that some frames last you years without being anything special. And some really beefy frames might snap in very obscure places. Time will tell you when you need a new frame.

@stib yes, I know about calipers. I bought mine for 20 pounds and a rotor usually comparable in price.
