comment Bailing out with SPD pedals on a mountain bike
"When you say that you're able to bail when you know you're going to crash... You would have time to unclip too." No, that's not correct. That's the problem -- sometimes when I would normally bail, I can't because there's no time to unclip.

That is an interesting page! No wonder I see partial disk wheels and aero helmets in triathlons.

I like the standard. Definition of "Bike Race": Two bicycles going in the same general direction whose riders see one another.

I agree it's a duplicate. I looked for a dup, but the search didn't find it. I'll search harder next time.

You're right, Daniel. I really meant the pads rub on the disk -- you cannot adjust the caliper position far enough to avoid this.

One is a Specialized Rockhopper with Avid brakes. I don't remember the other, but it is another brand. I don't know the difference between linear pull or cantilever brakes, but there is a cable the runs down to the calipers -- it's not hydraulic.

In a rough road, there is a point in the tire pressure where the wheels start bouncing. This would mess up the nice linear resistance at least at that point. I'm not sure what happens beyond there.
