Fixed gear wheel hard to spin It's possible that's what happened, though I have had my cones adjusted by bike shop mechanics several times (seems they need adjusting every 6mo). |

Fixed gear wheel hard to spin I used to ride 48x16 (78.8gi) but now I'm riding 44x15 (77gi). I rarely skid, but can if necessary. The front brake does most of the stopping. |

Fixed gear wheel hard to spin I use a front brake, but I like the chain pretty tight. Thanks for the tension suggestion, I'll look into it. |

Extend clearance for a 28mm tire Thanks @Mike. I always thought truing only had to do with side-to-side but that makes more sense. |

Extend clearance for a 28mm tire It's not rubbing on the sides, only in a few spots on the very top, against the arch in the brake. Does that still mean it's a truing problem? |

Extend clearance for a 28mm tire @WTHarper main thing that matters to me is low-cost and getting it ridable today. That's why I think I'm going to just get some 25mm's. |

Extend clearance for a 28mm tire Thanks. Good idea. I think I'm going to just take the tires back and get some 25mm though. |
