What are the reasons for and against wearing a bicycle helmet? In this excellent video about cycling in the Netherlands youtube.com/watch?v=rn2s6ax_7TM I think that it's hard to find anybody seen wearing a helmet. If you're racing or riding in traffic, sure, but if you were only surrounded by other casual commuting cyclists, it doesn't seem like it would be very necessary. (Sure, it's safer, but it would be safer to wear a helmet while walking, too. You gotta draw the line somewhere.) |
