I think it's the same company that made my Rollux watch...

You could also try throwing a dollar in between the tube and the tire - it may give you enough support to get you home.

Wow! What a nightmare. Maybe it was a really soft steel that corroded on to the nut?

comment How can I warm up/cook food while cycling?
This seems like a really, really poor idea. It seems equivalent to the people you see lurching around a bike path while talking on their cel phone, not paying attention to folks around them. Take the 10 minutes and pull over to play with fire / heat sources, if not for your personal safety than for the safety of anyone unlucky enough to be riding in the same area. I could see this going horribly wrong and the fuel from a camp stove spilling out over your bike, briefly turning you into a "Ghost Rider" meme on Reddit.

Are they double-sided? Often one side is used to drill in to the bolt, and the other pulls the bolt out. You may need to drill the hole out slightly for the tip of the extractor to fit in; be careful not to drill too large a hole (start with a hole that the tip barely fits in); remember that the idea is that the left-handed thread cuts into the hole as the extractor spins in.

Screw extractors are the type of thing that once you own them you'll wonder how you ever lived without them. Just make sure you invest in a good set; I've broken lots of cheap ones off.

I had this same problem - a little heavy grease and 40 ft/lbs of torque later the creaking went away.

comment How to clean white handlebar tape?
Why wash it? You worked hard to accumulate that much dirt - it just shows that you ride a lot. I thought my white tape was going to be a P.I.T.A. to keep clean, too but once I realized it's a badge of honor I just let it go.

I never said we should run people over; in fact, if you read the comment carefully you'll see it uses the word "everyone". The big problem is that because there seems to be a lack of awareness most commuters (myself included) avoid them, which seems counter to the idea of having a decent infrastructure for bicycles. There needs to be room and awareness for both experienced and novices.
