What is the best method to teach a young child to ride? This at least worked for me and my siblings. :-) |

What advanced cycling skills are useful for a commuter or city rider? A big part of he car noise actually are the tires on the road. And there are ideas in different legislations to require some "sound machine" for electric cars. |

Is it legal for me to ride a bicycle on the pavement (sidewalk)? As you mentioned children: Here in Germany there's an conflict of law - children may not use the road but have tu se the pacement. Adults may not use the pavement and have to use the road. By law parents are also required to look after the children. In the end there's no good way to deal with this in a legal way and many parents ride on the pavement, too ... |

Is it generally the case that bikes are allowed to use the “full lane”? That's also why I'Ve added the last paragraph. This will also depend on the cycling-culture. The less common cyclists are in an area the more on the right I will go. |

What to do after an accident? The order is good as it's really a good thing to care about safety first. There's little sense to reanimate the cyclist on a highway corned shortly after the hilltop and then being run over, too. Better ensure the cars approaching are being warned and slow down first. (Yes, my example is not that realistic, but to make it clear ...) |

Should I ring my bell before going around corners? §16, as most of StVO (which is Straßenverkehrsordnung - Road usage act) is valid for all sorts of vehicles using public roads of any kind. The mentioned §2 para 4 is one of the few cycling-specific rules. "Fahrzeug" is any form of vehicle. |
