comment Why do i have a cramp?
As mentioned below, hydration can be a big factor (typically around the lack of salts in your body). For me it is because I am usually low in magnesium so I will often have a magnesium supplement in advance of a big race or enduro ride. The other thing that I have found can bring on cramps quite quickly is poor fit of bike (as mentioned below; usually a saddle being too low). The way I adjust my saddle is to place my heal on the pedal at full leg extension. If my knee is slightly bent I raise the seat, if I can't reach I lower it until I can.

comment Can I convert hybrid to mountain bike. Tyres and tubes?
So you've got some answers about getting tyres suitable for mountain biking on your hybrid bike. I think you may also want to take into consideration the difference in core purposes. The hybrid frame isn't quite designed for the battering that riding proper single track can deliver. If you're only planning a few rides to see if you like it, then you will probably be fine, however if you're thinking of the hybrid as a longer term option, I would err on the side of caution.

comment Bottom bracket for framebuilding
You could use aluminium, however you then run into issues around the different rates of thermal expansion. From what I understand, Bamboo and steel have similar rates of thermal expansion, whereas aluminium is slightly different. This would likely cause the joints to weaken over time because the different rates of expansion and contraction. Titanium actually delivers on all fronts except the price front. That's why a bit of epoxy or fibreglass should do the trick to create a barier layer.

comment Tapered Head Tube
Hi Lantius, Thanks for the response. Please excuse my ignorance but based on this I am assuming that the distance between the top bearing and bottom bearing must be consistent when using a tapered head tube, otherwise fork manufacturers would have to create numerous different taper lengths. What is the standard length of the head tube?
