What's the benefit of a titanium skewer? @OMGPonies, you mean an alloy isn't an element? Thanks for clearing that up, I had NO IDEA! Thanks zenbike, I wasn't sure if they blended it with other metals to make an alloy (see what I did there OMGPonies). I did some searching but everything I came across just referred to it as Titanium not a Titanium alloy. |

What's the benefit of a titanium skewer? What do you mean Titanium is an alloyed steel? Are you saying that in the skewer it would be an alloy or are you saying the element Titanium is an alloy? |

How to avoid knee pain when cycling That's steep. My knees complain loudly with gearing comparable to that. I would recommend trying a 22t ring in the rear. Gear Inches data: 44x16 = 74.3, 44x17 = 69.9, 44x18 = 66.0, 44x19 = 62.5, 44x20 = 59.4, 44x21 = 56.6, 44x22 = 54.0 |

Is my interval training routine effective for mountain bike training? What kind of racing are you going to be doing? XC, downhill, etc? |

What kind of tire should I purchase for use on a bike trainer? I go through lots of old race tires and save them for this purpose when they start to show nylon. They still have enough tread for the trainer but not enough for the road. |

Did any manufacturer ever try using more, but lighter spokes to minimize weight? Don't forget about the nipples (that's what she said?)! The more spokes you add, the more nipples you will need to have which will increase overall weight. One wheel company to look at for light and strong spokes is Topolino. Their top end wheels have spokes created from carbon fiber. |

Is the Nashbar Fluid Trainer loud? What would you consider loud? Using any trainer will be noisy. You are right, the fluid and magnetic trainers will be quieter than the wind resistance trainers. |
