Front end developer for Nature, the science publisher. I do a bit of this and that in different areas. Mostly HTML / CSS / javascript with Wordpress development and a dash of Python.

I ride a Specialized Langster, fixed, on 44/16 for day-to-day commuting and audax rides of below 201km. I also ride a Surly Crosscheck for lightweight touring and hilly jaunts, an early-80's (French) custom road frame in the professional style of the time, and have a Pinarello mostly for posing on.

comment What is the correct way to put a helmet on?
@Vorac, helmets are not compulsory where I live (UK). I'm really not at all sure what the guy's rationale is, other than him somehow just not knowing how they're supposed to work. Or maybe he's doing it for fashion, in the manner of a baseball cap turned backwards?

I regularly see a chap on my commute who is wearing his helmet back to front, high on his scalp, with the rear vents positioned above his forehead. He doesn't do up the straps, ever. Maybe he needs your manual instead of you :/

comment Raleigh Twenty forks too narrow to accept 93mm hub
It's about 3mm so not completely totalled but some distance from being negligible. The forks are also slightly out of alignment front-to-back (i.e. one is pushed a little forward) but the lateral positioning shouldn't be too bad once secured to the axle. I'm replacing the forks anyway, but want to be reasonably sure that the current stock ones aren't going to snap and kill me in the interim from being stressed too much.
