comment Any Issues installing STI Brake/Shifter levers to bike with direct-pull V-Cantilever brakes?
After some research I guess any brake that is mounted on a post that attaches to the fork is a cantilever. Locally we refer to the types as "direct pull" (aka as mountain bike), "V" brakes are cantilever that use a straddle wire.

You mention direct pull and V in the description. it is typically one or the other but not both. Do you have a small "V" shaped (straddle) cable attached to the brake arms?

I have only heard of cantilever or direct pull being exclusive unique designs, it is one or the other but can't be both.. Not sure what the OP means by direct pull V cantilever.

comment turbo trainer on wtb 27.5 sx19 wheel is it possible
As far a your option b, it can be difficult to find a decent quality 27.5 wheel and tire on a budget. There is no reason you couldn't use a used 26" wheel and a slick tire. It wouldn't have to be a disc wheel since brakes aren't needed on the trainer.

comment Will any Shimano V brake fit any v brake lever and any v brake bike?
While the levers are compatible with the brakes some align better with Revo-style shifters than Rapid-Fires and vice-versa.

comment Bottom Bracket - Drive Side is Stuck, what to do please?
If the frame is aluminum try soaking the cup with ammonia. While penetrating oils work well on steel, they aren't as effective breaking down the aluminum oxide that forms. You may also find it easier to lay the bike on the floor. I have seen the cup stuck so bad it required a pipe wrench to get enough leverage.

comment Can I run Aluminum Backed organic brake pads with Elixir Avid 5 Hydraulic system?
I am not sure if the Elixir is of the type of caliper that contains a magnet to position the pads? If it is, my guess is aluminum pads are not compatible.

comment Shimano integrated shifter/brake: Cantilever compatible with V-Brake?
Clarification: Find a non integrated shifter ( shifter and brake lever are separate components) and use the cantilever brake lever that came with the bike, Use the integrated shifter and upgrade the brakes to "V" brakes.
