Shimano Chainring Set This would be the ideal time to service the bottom bracket while everything is apart. |

New touring bike components Are you buying a bike with these components, upgrading a new bike or building a bike with the intention of using these components? |

Rear wheel stuck (not moving) Is the chain still on the front gears and the rear cassette? Post pictures of these areas along with the rear axle. |

Removing bottom bracket from 79 peugeot frame If all else fails put a large screw driver in one of the notches in the lockring and tap it with a hammer. |

Do I need better “springs” on my disc brakes? Adjust for pad wear with the adjustment screws on the caliper. |

Do I need better “springs” on my disc brakes? As the pads wear they get farther from the rotor. By adjusting the pad position screws on the caliper you are restoring the pads to their original position in relation to the rotor. The caliper arm retains its' home position at the start of it swing. If you adjust the pads by using the barrel adjuster on the brake lever, the caliper arm is moved away from the home position. When the brake lever is squeezed you potentially can move the lever past its' normal swing to the point that it will bind. |
