Specialized Hardrock rear hanger It is not a bolt but specific derailleur hanger hardware. It was probable loose and fell off. Your LBS should be able to supply you with a new one. |

What's difference between 1/2 and 9/16 inch pedals? If your LBS is good enough to help you out return the favor and buy your pedals from them. |

Should I use a master link? Since your road bike has no suspension you won't see any of the issues you saw on the mountain bike. |

Can I fit slightly different tyre sizes There isn't an aggreed upon standard of measurement. This means that one brands 2.0 size might be larger than another brands 2.1 size. The tread pattern may also make a difference. A trial fit is the only way to know for sure if you are making drastic changes. |

When should you replace tires after getting a flat? I would use contact or rubber cement in lieu of super glue. Superglue isn't flexible when dry and will eventually disolve in water. |

New rocky mountain soul 29 making creaks by the bb Did your lbs give you a free 30 day check-up when you bought the bike? If they did bring it in for a check. You want them to resolve this before you or the bike suffer permanant damage. |

How can I remove a fork if the bolt on the stem is rusted? Be aware that many vintage headsets use loose uncaged ballbearings. When the fork separates they may go everywhere. My solution is to hang the bike from the ceiling or bike repair stand. Place a large plastic container under the fork to catch the balls as they fall. It may help to line the container with rags so the bearings don't bounce out. |
