How to get back on the road again? I would definitely learn to confidently side-hop left or right. This will allow you to stay at whatever speed you are doing, does not require much of change of direction, and once you're good you will be able to hop vertical and horizontal distances of 10cm with no trouble. I used it almost daily on commutes in Bristol, UK and London to get up and down high curbs. |

Solid Foam Rubber Inner Tubes For Mountain Bikes Not sure why you got down voted, it might be because of the duplicate. Best to search first. But welcome anyhow, we're no all grumpy with new folks :) |

Should I sell a custom built mountain bike as a full bike or break it into parts? @kibbee Yea totally agree, stripping only works well on eBay. |

Why are single-speed bikes with disc brakes hard to find? Check out the On-One Pompetamine. Love mine :) |

Does riding with suspension locked do any harm long term Is this a disc brake version? |

What does “claiming the lane” mean? +1 Yep that's how I see it. It's necessary in London sometimes to avoid being squashed and when traffic is usually moving slower than you are so wont get irritated and try dangerous overtaking. I most often claim the lane at traffic lights and roundabouts. |

Minimum mountain groupset hard enough to resist abuse Hi, this will be tricky to answer without more info about your riding style. Can you let us know: "riding harder" uphill or downhill or much longer distances or much gnarlier terrain. For example: If you're becoming a strong uphill rider we don't want to be recommending Saint for example ;) - this questions will attract subjective answers so might be kicked off anyhow.. but we'll see! |

Is it possible to transport many (up to 12) bikes using some sort of auto-trailer? If you google Image search "uplift trailer" you'll see loads! I reckon there will be someone offering hireable trailers. You might be able to purchase one second-hand from an uplift service that deals with Downhill Mountain Bikers. |

Why are higher-end freewheels so much louder when coasting? Lound freehub's seem to give the impression of a positive pawl action. I know that the best all-round MTB hubs I've run are Hope Pro's, and are 'BMX' loud. On that note, noisy BMX freewheels are considered desirable :) |

What Shimano jockey wheels are compatible with my old Shimano 105 9-Speed Derailleur? Well it would leave you with more options :) |

Creaking from cranks/spindle. How to fix? Hi, welcome to bicycles.se. As this is the same suggestion (more or less) as someone else, this would probably have been better as a comment. |

What Shimano jockey wheels are compatible with my old Shimano 105 9-Speed Derailleur? Are they 10 or 11 teeth jockey wheels? |

Is my disc brake caliper correctly mounted on the frame? In MTB circles downtube/chainstay cable routing is avoided whenever possible because the cable is more susceptible to damage if run that way. If you can, and have external Bottom Bracket cups, try and run the cable over the top of the BB-shell and not under it. |

Why isn't my suspension bouncy? Please tell us which make/model the forks are. Also how heavy you are. Thanks. |

What are the most significant factors affecting downhill cruising speed? Hi John, this might be better as a comment. When you have enough Reputation you'll be able to add things like this as comments to the original post, or other answers. Welcome to the site though :) |

Is there a real difference between Kross Evado 4.0 Hybrid and Merida Speeder T1-MD Hybrid? I would suggest you provide basic specs for both bikes. Don't make us go and google them and do research for you. Then we can comment on component quality and suitability for your needs. Thanks! |

Painful Feet: Might be related to pedal-foot positioning If you have flat, and overly pronated feet (like I do) you will probably find that using the ball of your foot over the pedal spindle actually hurts. I tend to pedal (stupidly) with more arch than ball. Less efficient but less pain :) |

How to: Sram 2x10 to 1x10 If you can, try and use a chainring that's designed to be run in it's own, and has no shifting ramps on it. Also your crankset probably has some 2.5mm spacers both sides of the BB. Removing one from the drive side and placing it on the other side might even up your chain line a bit. |

How to keep my manbag in place @WTHarper ...especially if you use the name 'Fanny Pack' near anyone from the UK! We prefer to call them 'Bum bags' and also prefer for them to stay in the 80's :D |

What is different about cycling in London? +1 I narrowly escaped pancake-shape due to this several times. Lorries suddenly realising they need to follow 'Low emissions zone' signs will turn immediately without looking. |
