I use bikes for 10-30 mile recreational rides and commuting. I have commuted more by bike than by car over the past 2 decades. Due to leg injuries, I started using a (pedal assist mode) electric bike in May 2011.

How to use Windstopper gloves most effectively? @user973810 7 questions are tagged with electric-bike. With this particular question, I'm using pedal assist mode. It's the equivalent of riding a regular bike down a 2% grade, pedaling at a high cadence with only a little effort. It's not zero effort like a motorcycle or electric scooter. I'm a regular bike rider but I started using an electric bike a year ago only because I've had some recurring leg injuries. Pedaling easily at a high cadence allows me to continue to do a bike commute, as opposed to buying a 2nd car for our household. |

How to use Windstopper gloves most effectively? You're right to wonder about that. I'm using pedal assist mode so I do pedal, but not that hard. High cadence but not having to exert much effort. By the end of my 20 minute ride I am warm in all other parts of my body but not sweating. When it is a bit warmer (above 55 degrees), the gloves have been fine. I edited the question to indicate that I'm pedaling. |

What should I look for when buying a smartphone handlebar mount? I replied to my own question here because of the iPhone mount question, where I saw lots and lots of answers that provided no information about what to look for in a bike mount and why any particular model might be better than any other. I don't know if my answer is thorough as I've only owned 2 different mounts so feel free to comment on any inaccuracies or omissions about key attributes. I'll try to incorporate the feedback into this answer, with an end result that is hopefully more useful to smartphone mount buyers than a request for recommendations. |
