I thought there might be, kind of like the oval chain rings discussions.

That sounds useful, but in the original photo the cranks at the back are no longer at the same angle as the front ones, so they either accidentally came out of sync at some point (changing chain?) or someone wants them at 90 degrees.

comment How do I maximize my upper body workout from riding?
I know this is implicit in the answer but you need to be climbing out of the saddle so it is your upper body doing some of the work.

comment Can cyclists legally ride on the sidewalk?
I believe cycling on the sidewalk is also legal in Iceland (or so I was informed when I hired a bicycle there).

comment How does one ride 'no handed'?
It's a fun 'experiment' to get a kid to hold a front wheel by the axle and tilt it left and right. Then start the wheel spinning and they can really feel how much the gyroscopic force resists tilt. +1 @Mac

Thanks - this is actually the approach I've tried (minus the rock and the police) but I've never gone beyond the 30 - 90 second mark. I never feel in control so when I have to steer I need my hands.

Thanks @Don - all three bikes are old so I may try my wife's as that's had less wear.
