comment Multiple Bluetooth Smart sensors for bike?
I don't see what this project will do that is not being done by a Viiiiva for less cash with a HR strap built in.

comment Multiple Bluetooth Smart sensors for bike?
ANT+ is far more reliable than BLE. Having code supporting both I know where my user queries are.

comment Removing bike interfaces to reduce likelyhood of theft?
If I don't have my lock I strap my helmet though the wheel if possible to something solid so the bike want just move if someone tries to push it as they pass by. Next line of defence is to remove the front wheel skewer and take it with me...

comment Evaluate hill gradient
Pressure based altitude can give you better incline numbers than gps based. The pressure change is irrelevant over the small bit of the ride that is used for incline. The incline number is liable to be for a length of road rather than instantaneous e.g. say the last 100m which is probably good enough for this context.

comment Repurpose old android phone (without cell phone plan) as cycle computer with GPS tracking?
There are plenty of phones with pressure sensors now so with the right app like IpBike to take advantage of them the dedicated cyceling computer no longer even has that advantage.

comment Smartphone mounted on handlebar: Will vibrations during cycling damage it?
Done 510 hours with my Xperia Active mounted on the bike, 3/4 road the rest mtb. So far so good. Mount is home made. The fact that everything is very well packed into a modern phone should help. Things moving independently of each other internally is what would be troublesome.
