About 20-30 people bike to where I work. What equipment/supplies should we have on hand? +1 for the idea of bringing left overs. |

How do I choose a bicycle fork? A very exhausting answer, but I don't agree with "cheap suspension fork will be much worse than a rigid fork". It used to be true 5 years ago, but a week ago I bought SR Suntour XCR LO for something like 3-4x times the price of rigid fork. This fork is 30mm upper tubes, aluminium crown, magnesium lower legs, variable oil damper with lock-out and adjustable pre-load. 5 years ago this price wouldn't buy you any of those features. |

What tips do you have for making temporary “get me home” repairs? A stick in the right place is enough to block front derailleur on second, but a screwdriver is a good idea anyway. |

What should I look for in choosing wheels for a road bike? nope this was paper edition. It's probably that wider tire doesn't bend so much under the same pressure. These were all very narrow racing tires, so it's not like the big cruiser is going to have lower rolling resistance, but the effect is enough to use wider tires at stages and thinner at time trials (that's what the paper said). freiheit said it all already. |

How can I look unsafe to a car driver but be safe @David M. The source I thought I was using is Polish police yearly road accidents report, but looking again I'm not sure. What stands is: bikers cause less than a half of the biker-involved accidents, primary death causes last year are not giving way either on intersections or crossings (over 70%). The causes for 10% can be overtaking related (but only 2-3% could justify "from behind"). Another 7% is attributed to inappropriate lighting anyway. I think a death rate is a better measure of danger than accident rate. |

How can I look unsafe to a car driver but be safe @neilfein maybe I'm overrating the Jolly Roger hat effect, but it seems like drivers don't get so angry, when there is no danger, the space is abundant and I'm clearly marked as pirate, when doing something illegal. |

What should I look for in choosing wheels for a road bike? There was once a resistance test on BikeBoard magazine. The results were: rolling resistance is lower for wider road tyres, however the air resistance counterbalanced the effect for time-trials. |
