How to deal with lock that keeps jamming? My experiences with using TriFlow to both de-gunk and re-oil the cylinder in a Kryptonite U-lock has been very positive. It'll take quite a few drops, but it works a lot better than WD-40. |

Snapping master links Due to powerlifting, my legs are used to applying large amounts of force, so I'm likely torquing too hard while shifting. It also looks like I'm going to go through 2-3 48T chainrings per year. |

Snapping master links @DanielRHicks Yes, I use KMC X9.93 as my chain and MissingLink 9s as my master link. |

Converting crankset from 28-38-48 to 30-39-53 With regards to crankset, LBS says that there's 2-3 mm of insufficient chainstay clearance. With regards to the shifter, I'm staying away from STs because remote master cylinders don't exist yet for hydraulic disc brakes, and I enjoy the RapidFire mechanism too much. Also, high-clamp derailleurs and the frame do not go together well. I'm using a FC-M591 26-36-48, and should I need the larger gears, I can just open AutoCad and machine custom chainrings fitting HollowTech II mountain/touring cranks. It should be cheaper than machining a custom crankset. |

Inline trailers Aren't bicycles classified as vehicles in your area, and are, hence, obligated to use the road? If so, then a bike lane is a bit wider than a sidewalk. |

What type of chain lube is best for winter riding? +1 for Finish Line Wet. However, I tend to blast the chain with CLR before degreasing it during cleaning in the winter so that road salt is evacuated more readily. |

Converting crankset from 28-38-48 to 30-39-53 My smallest sprocket is 11T and that's still not small enough. |

Converting crankset from 28-38-48 to 30-39-53 Also, pitch has been 1/2" for practically all bikes since WWII. |

Converting crankset from 28-38-48 to 30-39-53 Due to BCD mismatch, the fact that square taper starts creaking after half a year, and the fact that road triple crankarms don't clear the chain stay, I'm modifying a 4-bolt Hollowtech II mountain crank to use 5-bolt 135mm in AutoCAD and then getting quotes from various machinists / mills. |

Should I use a master link? KMC Master Link doesn't need flexing - just pull and you're good to go. SRAM PowerLink was definitely more of a hassle to assemble, as was a Taya one. |
