It is impossible to drink a gallon of milk in an hour.

I have done so.

Therefore, I can do the impossible.

Welcome to Bicycles SE. Unfortunately, an open-ended question like this is too broad for our Q&A format. Please see our help center or take our tour to find out more about what questions fit well within our framework.

From our help pages: "If you can imagine an entire book that answers your question, you’re asking too much." Not only can such a book be imagined, several exist. I personally found the Sierra Club's aptly titled "Bike Touring" to be very useful.

comment Should I be able to 'manually' rotate the headset?
If you can move anything, something is probably too loose. What that is depends on what's moving and what type of headset you have. If you don't know what kind of headset you have, or what the various parts are called, take a picture, label it with what's moving, and edit it into your post.

Welcome to Bicycles SE. I've moved your indexing text to the image's alt tags. This is better for a number of reasons that I can't go into in such a confined space. I've also removed your "thank you" text. On all Stack Exchange sites, it is much preferred that you say "thank you" by by upvoting and accepting answers.
