What are the reasons for and against wearing a bicycle helmet? Burying has a positive impact on your ecological footprint (on the long term). I'm not quite sure for a stay in the hospital. When you don't commute on your bike being in the hospital is also good (from an ecological point of view). The trip to the hospital (by car) is very bad, but is equivalent to the trip to the bike shop to buy the helmet (with car, because you do not have a helmet yet). You normally don't save a trip to the hospital per helmet, so overall impact of helmet buying vs getting injured and being transported to the hospital comes out negative on ecological footprint. |

For a long (25mile each way) commute, what kind of bike should I look at? Slick tires ask for enough pressure. Check your rim-strip if it can take it. And go to the maximum pressure (printed on the side of your tires). |
