comment How to commute to work on your bike and dress up
The formaldehyde laced, non-iron shirts are a good commuting option too. I stuff them in my bag, rolled or in a ball or whatever, and after a few minutes of wearing them they are back to normal.

comment What do you wish you knew you before you bought your first nice bike?
Just to expand on the fenders...my bike isn't even drilled for fenders, which means it is also not drilled for a panier rack which is a real hassle because I can't buy just any ol' fenders/racks.

comment What components are required to upgrade from a 14 speed to 24 speed?
Plus the speeds OP has are not too far off of the widest around. I ride in WA too and I have basically those gear top/bottom ends. It works just fine.

comment Most effective upgrades on Road bike
@JGood when you ride enough to fine something lacking then upgrade. But if you start upgrading now then you don't really know if it was worthwhile because you didn't know what you replaced.

@jimirings having the tire spin out is half the fun though! And if you fall it's all part of the game.

comment Benefits of toe grips/toe straps
Being able to add that extra bit of power on a slippery uphill is while clipped in is very helpful. Not only the power but I feel like I am able to retain my balance better.

comment Why does my bike make a noise when I pedal hard?
Where do you live? Did it happen in warm weather? If it is cold where you are does it happen only when your bike moves from your warm home/apartment to the cold outdoors then goes away after a while?

comment What steps should I follow to patch a tube?
Is the leak in fact form the same hole or did you accidentally pinch a new hole when you put the tube back on the rim/tire?

comment How can I warm up/cook food while cycling?
Depending on how hard you're riding you could put the food in your pants. :) it'll get decently warm. (use a plastic bag through)

going above 85% of my max heart rate? Did you mean to say going 85% of my max heart rate? The first one sounds like a heart attack.
