comment Is it preferable to pedal downhill?
+1 for "soft pedalling". The example might be MTB, but there's plenty here that works for road riders too. In my experience that threshold depends on how tired you are. If you've spent the last 5 mins above your LT, then a brief rest makes a huge difference.

comment What are the most effective exercises to improve stamina and speed on my cycle to/from work?
Good answer, definitely get out more often, even in rain/snow/wind, but I'd caution against riding when there's ice on the road. Unless you have studded tyres or a trike, then an accident is likely and could stop you cycling for some time.

Welcome to Bicycles.SE! I've edited your answer to remove the caps and hopefully clarify things a bit. If I've inadvertently changed your intention, please say.

Good point that all metallic bike frames are alloys and I guess even carbon has resin involved, not that you'd call that an alloy.

Good find and a "bargain" at "only" $1M ;), but is overlaid (presumably over steel). Probably due to the many practical problems discussed below.

Nice answer, but did you mean: "However, uglifying your bike isn't as effective against common thieves as it is against these planned attacks" or the reverse?
