comment New Shimano m615 rear caliper fails and stops biting the rotor after 30 seconds of extreme downhill
Turns out i needed to replace the 160mm rotor which had started to over heat and turn blue. I placed a slightly larger Xt rotor 180mm, that displaces the heat better, and everything sems to run fine without pad replacement and without rebleed! I had a bad rotor!

Thank you. They are new brakes, only used for 2 days (3k ft vertical DH), and suspect the bleeding from the manufacturer is the culprit right out of the box (got a Dud), and will try a new bleed next and if that doesn't work, I go for the SAINT.

comment Carbon bikes make me nervous. Can you ease the tension?
Yes it is true.. After crushing three specialized Enduros, two Other aluminum frames over the last ten yrs, i have yet to break my white Santa Cruz Carbon Blur LT to this day after over a year and a half... 6,000 miles of trail riding... i am sold on Carbon, and Santa Cruz Bikes does the trick on this end. I also own an old 1989 Kestrel EMS carbon road bike, that i like to take on fireroads in the mountains and on paved roads with lots of DH, potholes, hazards, from the summit to the coast, and after many years of abuse and thousands of miles, not problems at all...

comment The lightest 26" mountain bike tire with minimum width of 2.3
This is a real question. I care about weight, and i want the best downhill traction with ability to climb fast, hence big tire low weight. The weight of tire and wheel set is high on my list, this is where many people are wrong, the weight of wheel set and tires are the first to go when trying to lighten up a bike for off road.

The reason i use this site is that i do not have time to research this info, and plenty of people can help answer my question, thats why i am here.
