comment How can I develop my abs while I ride my bicycle?
If you can't stand on your pedals without damaging your bike, your bike is the problem not your stance. Remember, any use of a bike will wear it down (standing or sitting), that's the point of having one - to use it.

comment Why have 29-ers arisen only recently?
Mountain bike wheels are generally measured in inches, which is the terminology reference I'm making. I agree introducing new terms is confusing, but 700cc was a confusing term anyway - the wheels aren't actually 700, usually nearer 620. So if the new metric (inches - which aren't new anyway, just not road bike standard) makes understanding wheels easier, then we have progress.

Maybe you should read the full sentence. "Although in my opinion mountain bikes are the inferior or their road brothers, they do seem to be more popular", it says 'OR' and concludes "they do seem to be more popular" - which is my opinion. Basically I'm saying I don't think which is 'the best' matters, but popularity has leaned to adoption of mountain bike metrics.

comment Do I need a new chain after 1300 miles?
The question doesn't ask what brands, it says which types. The answers have addressed this and not 'solicted debate'.

comment Sora front derailleur set up
Short answer: No, it's fine for it to rub. Keep your chain clean and lubricated and it will last well (I get about 10,000 km before changing). You can get further if in a dry climate where caring for it is easier (up to 16,000 km). If you're particularly worried about the chain rubbing you can get more expensive chains which use different (tougher) materials for the 'wall links' - but I guarantee the chain will need have stretched out (from everyday use) before the side links wear down. The front dérailleur won't suffer.

comment How to use drop handlebars properly?
I would make two positions out of the drops. Being in them or on them. In the drops I am more hunched/aerodynamic and holding the more vertical part of the drop. On the drops I am less hunched and holding the horizontal of the drops. This may sound like the same position, but switching between them allows you to stay aerodynamic while changing the back muscles used without the aero compromise of riding on hoods. I'd usually spend ten minutes on drops for every thirty minutes in them if on a long 'fast' ride and the road permitted (less access to brakes/gears).
