comment Missing a part from an internally threaded steer tube
A picture would be nice. You're probably just missing the preload bolt, but we can't tell for sure from the description.

comment What to do about a stuck chain link on 10 speed chain
Sounds like a bend in the pin or something. You could possibly remove that link and replace it with a spacer / whatever those weird links are called.

comment BMX stem slipping; how to stop?
No, the gap isn't fully closed - from reading online I think that the bar may be ovalized from where the shop initially tightened it up, but I will have to check tomorrow (I am at school at the moment).. I will be able to give some more detail then

comment How to tell what BMX frame I have?
Post a picture and look for any identifying numbers / letters on the frame, and if any of the parts came originally with the bike list what they are if you can.

@Jm2 Okay, but the type of bike was not specified in the question.

comment Bike touring/camping tip(s)
As @Benzo said you might want to use some type of thread adhesive.. but a few spares wouldn't hurt either.

@DC_CARR Polling and things of that nature usually aren't allowed on SE sites, that's more for a forum or the chat.

Try using a putty knife or something on those two notches.

comment What is it called when you ride a bmx like a unicycle?
@RoryAlsop I wasn't able to find a result on Google, and even with Kibbee's answer I was only able to find two or three things.

comment What is it called when you ride around on your back wheel?
@MatthewRead cmannet is right - there are just different words. However, you are not being very clear, because you are saying 'stopping' which implies no movement - is the bike moving, or is it not? Peddling with the front tire in the air is a wheelie, no peddling with the front tire in the air is a manual.

comment Advantages / disadvantages of freecoaster and cassette hubs
@WTharper Thanks, that clears it up a bit - so, a freewheel just rolls wherever, and a cassette hub is essentially a freewheel, except to roll backwards you have to pedal backwards (speed is irrelevant?) so that the hub doesn't lock up?

comment Is there much of a difference between flatland and park/street frames?
@dotjoe They do cater some, but I pretty much got the impression "If you don't do business through me, it's terrible business"

There's only one shop that specialized in mountain biking (they have a few BMX, though) and we have no park - I'll probably end up just ordering a bike, but I'm going to talk to them first - no one around here rides BMX, either, so I have a limited amount of people to talk to =p
