comment Are there any reasons why you would avoid going disc (other than cost) for racing cyclo cross?
my guess would be weight, cantilevers are lighter than the braking discs plus calipers

comment How do i fix my v-brake with some part twisted?
those are cantilever brakes so as long as the attachment is good then it will still stop the bike if the cable is pulled, though indeed I wouldn't rely on that

comment Where to park a bike during a year for free ? (in the Netherlands?)
some carpool and park-and-ride areas will have semi-sheltered (unmonitored) bike stands,

comment Wheel rim problem
machining down the high spot should have fixed the issue

comment What causes a wheel to seize?
the bearing cage is rather rigid, however the bearing balls may have grouped and shifted and then scored the surfaces

comment How to nail clipping into race pedals without looking?
and if the pedal doesn't rotate freely you need to lube it/check the bearings

comment Discouraging motorists from stopping at an intersection when they have the right-of-way
a bridge (or tunnel) is bloody expensive and not always feasible (space for ramp being the most limiting factor), a cheaper alternative is on demand traffic lights

comment What accessories do I have to add to my bike so that I may commute during rainy weather?
don't use slick when going through heavy rain, threads where invented to go through whet weather easily

comment How to Patch a Bike Tube?
the transparent peel is there to avoid having all the patches sticking together, which will lead to damage if you try to separate them again

comment Lights wiring polarity and wire marking
reversing polarity of the charging input of a phone can fry the battery, you don't want that in a smartphone, if it is AC then it needs a AC to DC converter

comment How Can I Increase My Braking Power?
the cable might slip from the clamp ensure that it is tight enough, also check the brake lines if they are springy (you can bounce the handle a bit when on full tension) then you might wanna consider a replacement

comment Is there legal recourse to drivers passing too close?
if you want to educate people then go to the nearest cyclist union and sell them the idea for a marketing campaign for the 3foot rule (using the billboards and local media outlets), or spend several thousand dollars to finance the campaign yourself

comment Why do deraillers require a freewheel?
the top part of the chain will also droop and might catch on something

comment Good locks seem awfully heavy
grab some heavy fabric and sew it into a tube and put the chain in it that will protect the paint

comment Good locks seem awfully heavy
if you are going for an electric bike you will be lugging a heavy battery around, a good lock will likely not matter at that point, most locks also come with a way to attach it to the bike when not in use to secure it

comment Rear Derailleur Curled Up
when you have the chain on both largest cogs if the dérailleur is still too far back the chain is just too long

comment How to protect myself when falling off the bicycle
after which you hit yourself in the face; your arms aren't meant to have you land on them, best thing is to roll out someway
