gaffer tape the bike to your leg and let it hang off the bottom.

comment My back brakes don't lock the wheel (skid): feature or a bug?
this question is named really badly. Brakes should fully stop the wheels from moving but skidding is not good .

comment New bike hubs way over-tightened?
that just sounds like 'defectiveness by design', poor design, poor build quality. no bicycle wheel bicycles should be overtightened for any reason.

Yeah but they vulcanise onto rubber, and the panniers are made of plastic so it would probably be better to use pliobond and innertube.

comment Why so many headset spacers on some expedition bicycles?
all good points there. On this model oxfordbikeworks.co.uk/models/model-1e the number of spacers looks obscene, but its not mentioned why. If you were a tall rider why not just buy a bigger frame? I suppose it might give you more stepover clearance which could be a benefit if you are stopping often and have a loaded bike.

comment Why so many headset spacers on some expedition bicycles?
I'm just curious because back in 07 when I put together a touring bike using a mtb frame, I ended up using a lot of spacers, which at the time I thought wasn't a good thing, because the frame wasn't designed for it, and I also decided later that the frame was also too small. Plus since then I've use an adjustable stem instead. Maybe there is a benefit of smaller frame diamond segments for strength?

why not design a frame with a longer headtube then?

comment How do I know what is the right bottom bracket for my old road bike?
its subtle, but I had to grind off a bit of the bb screwed in on the drive side - a couple of mm did it, but when I ride I feel slightly like the line isn't right and occasionally knock the inside of my shoe on the crank arm.
