How to find a mountain bike that can handle a heavier (250-260lbs) rider? replace "overweight" with "heavy", since that's what matters here. |

How to avoid turning the spokes while tuning the wheel In addition to a drop of oil on each nipple, I also tap each a few times with a screwdriver, and wait a while for the oil to soak in. Still, you will always get twisting, so you need to learn the anti-twist technique. |

How to avoid turning the spokes while tuning the wheel If you've never built a wheel, and try to reassemble one, do not expect it to work well. There is a lot more to wheel building than getting the right parts in the right place. |

Do I need a new chain after 1300 miles? Remember: a worn chain will make new cogs wear faster; worn cogs will make a new chain wear faster. Replace them before they get bad. If both are bad, replace both at once. |

What is the 3 foot law and which states have it? Let's get a 3-mile-law: no cars within 3 miles of a bike (except emergency vehicles). Who's with me? |

What should a big guy look for when buying a road bike? Remember that most bike stuff is designed to minimize weight, with barely enough strength. For us, weight of bike is not important, but strength matters much more. Especially in frame and wheels. |

I wish to get fit, therefore should I have a heavy bike? @meagar: I don't think I explained myself well, but my real thoughts on the the matter are both off-topic and too complex for this setting. Too bad for me. |

What is the hand gesture for “I'm sorry”? The picture doesn't make it clear, but your fist is supposed to be against your chest, not out in the air. You're not shaking your fist at someone. Also, in ASL you would bow your head and make a forlorn facial expression. All together, it's pretty obviously not a sign of aggression. A (non-ASL) alternative would be to put your fist on your chest and bow your head. |
