@Mark, I've been riding them for a few weeks on the lowest resistance setting and haven't moved up the resistance yet so I don't know. My guess is that the resistance doesn't go as high as stationary trainers can go.

Thanks for the response. I'm looking for a way to do something like record a route and submit that. Do you know of anything like that?
