comment Are there road bike tires invulnerable to popping?
@Ehryk Hi. I use Continental Grand Prix Classics at 25mm width. Look good on my old lightweights and have always proven reliable. GL

thats funny because I use a road bike in the city. I hop up and down many sidewalks, hit some potholes, drive over shards of broken beer bottles - and have changed only one tire on that bike so far this year. Maybe I just get lucky, or perhaps you are not careful enough?

comment What are the pros and cons of sunscreen vs. protective clothing?
how does removing sweat from the skin improve cooling? The cooling effect of sweat occurs through the evaporation of the water. You shouldn't wipe it off..

comment How to choose grips for trail riding AND commuting?
@trailmax well then either you have no clue about gloves, or you are a bicycle glove manufacturer that's angry because someone pointed out that his product is too expensive while offering limited advantages (like finding them easily in the mud because of nice colours and the contrast between glove and the big printed logo).

I have access to a 'flyer' brand commuter bike. Apparently quite high end and expensive. I will run some tests on it tomorrow and get back to you. Interesting question! Expect results in NLT 24 hours.

comment Is it legal for me to ride facing traffic on the sidewalk in California?
A bicycle will never be safer riding with traffic. Being the predominantly slower vehicle and at the same time very slim, it always risks get smashed around because it's overseen. Riding against traffic on a sidewalk should be a legal possibility.

@CarrieKendall It's not and easy situation. The best solution would be sitting down and protecting to turtle until it turns walking directly towards either side, or shuffles along of it by itself. In the meantime you are there to protect it. But since this can take hours and you also have a life to live, I'd suggest moving it to nearest the side of the path, facing the same way. Hopefully it will walk down the side and stay somewhat out of the way. But yeah, it's an unlucky situation. Resist trying to deposit is farther off the trail. Instead, trust in people seeing and avoiding it.
