I am currently the team lead of a desktop support unit at Illinois State University that services many administrative departments in addition to the athletics department.
The team more accurately is titled Endpoint Support, as technical support is provided for all endpoints from desktop and laptop computers to printers, handhelds, projectors, cameras, and software.
With a mix of full-time and student staff, we support the needs of our business partners across the University. My role is to ensure a quality of service is reached and work to improve the effectiveness of our technicians.
In this capacity I also participate in work groups, committees, and other teams. An example is the ITIL process groups for defining Incident, Problem, and Service Asset and Configuration Management current and future state.
External to my professional life, I am and active cyclist commuting to work by bike year round as well as riding for fitness and competition.
