As for your chain slipping this could be a number of things, but given the age of your bike have you checked to see if your drive train is worn out. If you chain has stretched too much, eventually it will start sliding over the cogs under pressure. | |

But I wonder why he didn't install a RD-5500-GS instead... maybe it was a leftover. As a matter of fact, I sometime experience some chain slip. | |
