There is no need to worry about long steep (~15%) sections on Cat1/HC climbs as very few have sections like this. I was REALLY glad I had MTB gears to do Mortirolo though! | |

But my impression is that the concern about low cadence (with high effort) is more about sustained riding vs relatively short intervals. How long did it take you to do the climb? | |
