Jan 18, 2018 at 17:43 comment added Nhân Lê Can you point to the specific section that gives you such impression? I will try to improve. What I mean is 1) you don't need to race for commuting, safety wise, and thus 2) the advantages of road bike over cx vanish
Jan 18, 2018 at 0:18 comment added David Richerby @NhânLê Well, duh, if you cycle at 20mph without watching where you're going, you'll hurt yourself badly. Your whole argument doesn't really make a lot of sense. Most people aren't going to see a whole lot of difference in speed between a road bike and a cyclocross bike, but your argument seems to be basically that a cyclocross bike would be safer because it's slower.
Jan 17, 2018 at 23:32 comment added Nhân Lê I think there is a confusion, what i mean is you do not need a road bike to go below the speed that considered to be dangerous, be it 30mph, 40mph or 50mph. Dangerous is entirely subjective, but the risk is there when we cycle above 20mph, a simple pot hole in the rain is enough to cause serious injury.

Jan 12, 2018 at 13:38 comment added user171453 I disagree with the speed limit. Modern road bike are marvelous machines made for going fast. I hit at least 40 km/h on my commute everyday. I personally think it's starts to get dangerous when you go above 50 km/h. But that's just my opinion.
Dec 11, 2014 at 11:28 comment added Nhân Lê @sjakubowski That's exactly what I mean, you do not need a Road bike to achieve the speed that is considered to be already hazardous. I believe going over 20 mph, 30 kmph on the street with busy junctions is really dangerous.
Dec 11, 2014 at 3:39 comment added sjakubowski 30 km/hr is not 'racing' I average that speed on my commute to work on my CX bike and I am only a ~185W FTP rider.
Dec 11, 2014 at 0:03 comment added Nhân Lê @sjakubowski since you do not have the need to race over 30 kmph, a Road Bike is not needed over CX.
Dec 10, 2014 at 23:17 comment added sjakubowski What does 30km/hr have to do with a CX bike or Road Bike?
