Oct 21, 2016 at 20:41 comment added Criggie Are you able to swap bikes with someone else in the pack to see how it feels? Ideally someone a similar size and cleat system. Add some science and see what you see.

Mar 29, 2015 at 23:17 comment added whatsisname There is no way you are the "same power" as other riders. The difference in capacity between different people is tons more variable than between bikes.

Mar 28, 2015 at 23:34 comment added user95786 My head is higher than theirs. Also the bunch rarely surges, we are preparing for a 9 man ttt event.
Mar 28, 2015 at 23:14 comment added Daniel R Hicks That's about 22mph, meaning that you are in the range where fairly small aerodynamic differences can begin to be significant. It's hard to say how much of a penalty you're paying, though, relative to the other riders -- certainly not 2-to-1, but (thumb suck warning!) maybe 5% or so more effort than the best bike would burn.
Mar 28, 2015 at 21:43 comment added andy256 How close to the next rider in the bunch are you riding when you get dropped? Does this bunch surge? Is your head higher than theirs?

Mar 28, 2015 at 17:45 comment added user95786 mostly flat terrain with the occasion hill which tops out at now more that 100m in elevation. As for speed its when they start nudging things past 35kph when I really start to suffer.
Mar 28, 2015 at 16:38 comment added Fred the Magic Wonder Dog How fast are you riding when this happens? What terrrain?
