Jun 23, 2017 at 13:32 | comment | added | David Zemens | The average men's inseam length is probably in the 30-32" range, at 39" inseam you must be in the neighborhood of 6'10" tall -- 4+ standard deviations away from the average (US) height of 5'9"! Further, most claims of "no difference" or "no significant difference" are based on studies evaluating standard (160-180mm) crank lengths and presumably for an average sized rider. I'd expect these results are not replicable for edge cases such like yours (extremely tall, using extremely long crank arms), but I would not make broad generalizations or conspiracy theories from those data points :) | |
