Apr 13, 2017 at 0:00 comment added paparazzo A slick with soft rubber. It does not hydroplane but wet pavement still has less friction. At the microscopic level it is still wet pavement. I ran an analysis and I think a bike would hydroplane at about 130 mph. Not going to post as my tech analysis just gets down votes here.
Aug 16, 2014 at 12:44 comment added linguamachina Gators aren't exactly the grippiest of tyres, especially in the wet. Reduce your tyre pressure a little to gain a bit more grip, at the expense of efficiency (rolling resistance) and puncture resistance.

Oct 23, 2012 at 15:24 comment added Useless Learn to modulate the front brakes and you can stop faster, without flipping, and with less chance of skidding. Of course, if you do skid the front wheel, it's less recoverable.
