You get HR excursions outside, too. The HR excursions from video games don't have the same consequences that the excursions caused by misbehaving automobiles or trucks do. And on that trainer you'll probably never get a HR excursion from a death wobble starting during a fast descent.

Overall, whilst this is a great answer for those that want to do so, i'd say that trying to combine the two is going to lead to a bad performance in both your gaming and your workout
